Alexander MacRa (MacRae)

(Northern District) Born in Inverness, 8th July 1821, the son of Farquhar MacRa and Anne Murchison; left because of ill health, 19th February 1844, readmitted to Blairs and ordained a priest by Bp. Kyle at Preshome, 16th March 1846; sent to new mission at Beauly but, 1851, dismissed by his bishop; went to Nova Scotia, 1853, and died, Boisdale, Cape Breton Is., 1856.

The Rev. Alexander Macrae, born in July 1821;— studied at Blairs and Valladolid;—was ordained, at Preshome, on the 16th March 1846, by the Right Rev. Dr Kyle, who soon after appointed him to the new Mission of Beauly.
